Varna

Varna is an exciting place to live and work in. This town with around 370,000 inhabitants is a charming place to live. There are so many things to discover. Before you come, we will send a detailed letter to you about life in Varna, office work and other topics.

Getting to know the city

For your comfort and easy adaptation to life in Varna we have engaged local students and European volunteers, who will show you the town and help you find your way around – and the best places. When you arrive, we will organise a City Game for you to get to know the town.

There are lots of cheap food places near our office where you can eat.

You can walk in Varna at any time and anywhere. The city is in general safe also at night.

Varna is a tourist city in the summer. It is a wonderful place to be (if you are a little careful with your belongings), with lots of cafés and restaurants and street life – and the long sandy beaches, of course.

Most shops are open 10:00-20:00, but there are lots of 24-hour shops near your house.

Enjoy cultural life

Visit the oldest gold treasure in the Archaeological Museum and the Roman Baths, Cathedral and other churches. Walk in the beautiful Sea Garden. Have an ice-cream in the pedestrian area and enjoy life. In the summer there are lots of festivals, concerts, dancing etc.

Excursions

Lecti Adventure and the trainees working for the travel company organises excursions to different places. When you arrive, we will give you more information. Our excursions are cheap and you will have the best guides in Bulgaria travelling with you!

Events and culture

We expect you to arrange at least one cultural evening for the other Erasmus+ trainees and audience – about your country, town, literature, music or something that interests you. Lecti also arranges wine tastings and other exciting events. Think about what events you would like to organise and send us your suggestions!
